What this service is

If your customers come from nearby, this is your SEO.

Local search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work that gets a business found for searches with a place attached, said out loud or not: "near me", a suburb name, a city, or just a search made from a phone standing in one. For anyone who serves customers inside a set area rather than selling to the whole country, that is most of the SEO worth doing.

It covers a different set of things than SEO in general. There is the map result and the Google Business Profile (GBP) sitting behind it, the reviews on that profile, a page for each service you sell and each area you cover, and the business details listed about you across the rest of the web. They either pull in the same direction or they quietly cancel each other out.

We run the lot as one job and report on what it produces. The wider organic work, including the parts that aren't location-led, sits on our SEO service page.

What we do

What's in a local SEO engagement.

01

Google Business Profile, run properly

Categories, services, service area, hours and photos set up right, then kept current instead of filled in once and forgotten.

02

A page per service you sell

Every service you want enquiries from gets its own page, so you're not asking one page to carry the whole business.

03

Location pages worth publishing

Pages for the suburbs and towns you genuinely work in, built where there's something real to say and skipped where there isn't.

04

A review habit that sticks

A simple way to ask customers at the right moment and a routine for replying, kept inside Google's review rules.

05

Business details that match

Your name, address and phone number corrected across the listings that still carry an old number, an old address or a name you've moved on from.

06

Calls and enquiries, reported

Calls, form submissions and direction requests tracked back to local search, in a monthly report you can read in two minutes.

Who it suits

Built for businesses with a service area.

Local SEO is for the businesses people search for with a place in mind: one shopfront, a few branches, or a van and a radius. If you'd take a job three suburbs away and not one three states away, this is the version of SEO that applies to you.

It suits smaller businesses particularly well, because the map results don't care how big you are. A one-van operator with a complete profile, steady reviews and a real page for each job can sit above a national brand in its own suburb, which is rarely true of the searches that have no location attached.

Trades and home services Law firms Accounting firms Mortgage and finance brokers Building and construction Cleaning and facilities Auto and mechanical Hire and equipment

Some industries have their own page with the detail that matters to them: SEO for tradies, SEO for law firms and SEO for accountants.

We work with businesses across Australia, and there's a page for each city we're most active in: Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Darwin, where there's also a dedicated SEO Darwin page.

Common questions

Local SEO questions.

What's the difference between local SEO and SEO?
Regular SEO is about ranking a website for a topic, wherever the searcher happens to be. Local SEO is about ranking for searches with a location attached, stated or implied, which brings your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your listings and your suburb pages into it. For a business that works in a set area, local SEO is nearly all of it.
How long does local SEO take?
We won't give you a number of weeks for something Google controls, and we'd treat any agency that does with suspicion. What we can give you is the order things move in: profile and listing work usually shows first, new service and location pages take longer because Google has to find and trust them, and the most competitive searches take longest of all. How long depends on where you're starting, who you're up against and what needs fixing.
How much do local SEO services cost?
It depends on how competitive your area and industry are, how much work your website and profile need first, and how many services and locations you want covered. We quote after the free marketing review rather than publishing a range that won't match your business. Plans are month-to-month with 30 days notice and no minimum term.
I don't have a shopfront. Can I still rank locally?
Yes. Set your Google Business Profile up as a service area business, hide the home address and list the areas you cover. Expect to show most strongly closest to your verified location, and use service and location pages on your website to reach further out.
Can I do local SEO myself?
A fair bit of it, yes. The profile, asking for reviews and correcting your old listings are all evening jobs. The heavier part is the website side: proper service pages, the technical fixes underneath them and tracking that ties enquiries back to search. Our free local SEO guide is a good place to start if you'd rather have a go yourself.
Can you guarantee a spot in the map results?
No. Nobody controls Google's results, and map rankings change with where the person searching is standing, so a screenshot of "number one" proves very little. What we commit to is the work, honest reporting on the calls and enquiries it brings in, and telling you when something isn't working.
