Why the Coast is different

It isn't one city. It's a string of towns.

Most advertising advice assumes a city with a centre and suburbs around it. The Sunshine Coast doesn't work like that. Caloundra, Kawana, Maroochydore, Coolum, Noosa, Nambour and the hinterland towns are their own markets, sixty or seventy kilometres end to end, and a search made in one of them is a different search from the same words typed in another. A single radius dropped over "the Sunshine Coast" spends a lot of money reaching people who will never book you.

The second thing that catches accounts out is who is doing the searching. A large share of Coast traffic comes from people who are here for a week. If you hire boards, run a restaurant or fix holiday-let air conditioning, that traffic is the good stuff. If you quote renovations or handle conveyancing, it is expensive noise, and the account has to know the difference.

The region is also growing quickly, and the new estates around Caloundra South, Palmview and Beerwah change the map faster than most accounts get looked at. Competitors arrive, click prices move, and a campaign built two years ago is bidding on a Coast that has since shifted. Our Sunshine Coast marketing agency page covers how the rest of the plan fits around the ads, and SEO on the Sunshine Coast covers the organic side.

What we run

What a Sunshine Coast account gets from us.

01

Targeting built town by town

The centres you service set up as their own targets, so a busy week in Maroochydore doesn't quietly spend the budget you wanted in Caloundra or Noosa.

02

Residents and visitors kept apart

Where it matters to your business, we separate the people who live here from the people here on holiday, so you pay for the enquiries you can actually convert.

03

Budget that moves with the season

Spend lifts into the school holidays, summer and your own busy stretch, and eases off in the quiet weeks instead of running flat through a year that isn't.

04

Wasted searches pulled out weekly

We keep taking out the searches that cost money and never turn into work, so more of the budget sits on the jobs you want to be quoting.

05

Every enquiry tracked to its search

Calls, forms and quote requests tracked back to the search that produced them, so spend follows whatever is bringing in real work.

06

An account you own

The account is yours, with your billing and your history. If you leave, it stays with you, and so does everything in it.

Who it suits

Where Google Ads earns its keep on the Coast.

Paid search pays off where someone types what they need and wants it dealt with now. On the Sunshine Coast that is usually the trades and home services people call at short notice, the professional services people compare before they commit, and the operators whose season decides their year.

If you're a trade, the trade-specific detail lives on Google Ads for tradies. For firms, there's Google Ads for law firms and Google Ads for accountants.

Common questions

Google Ads on the Sunshine Coast questions.

What should a Sunshine Coast business spend on Google Ads?
It depends on the work you want, how many people here search for it, and how many of your competitors are already bidding. A Noosa trade and a Caloundra trade can sit at different click prices for the same job. Rather than quote a range off a website, we work the number out against your own market in the free marketing review.
Should I target the whole Sunshine Coast or just my area?
Whatever you'll actually travel for. Plenty of Coast businesses cover Caloundra to Noosa and the hinterland, and plenty stop at the next suburb because the drive eats the job. We set the targeting to your real service area and split the towns that behave differently, then adjust once the enquiries show where your good work is coming from.
Will I be paying for clicks from tourists?
Not unless you want them. Visitor searches are worth having for hire businesses, restaurants, charters and holiday-let services, and mostly wasted for a builder quoting a renovation. We set the account up for whichever of those you are, and the enquiry tracking shows which group is turning into work.
Is Google Ads the same thing as AdWords?
Yes. Google renamed AdWords to Google Ads in 2018, so "AdWords management" and "Google Ads management" are the same service. Some of the platform changed with the name, which is why an account nobody has touched since the old days usually has settings working against it.
Are you based on the Sunshine Coast?
No. We're on the Gold Coast and we work with Coast businesses remotely, with calls, shared reporting and a drive up for the meetings that are worth doing in person. Everything we build sits in your own account where you can see it.
Do I need search engine optimisation as well?
Not necessarily. Ads can be switched on and appear straight away. Search engine optimisation (SEO) builds slowly and keeps working without paying per click. A lot of Coast businesses start with ads while the organic side builds underneath, which is what SEO on the Sunshine Coast covers. We'll tell you if one on its own is the better use of your money.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. Month-to-month with 30 days notice and no minimum term. The Google Ads account stays in your name either way, with your billing and your history.
